Thistles – Noxious Weeds
To our members –
On Tuesday 7/13/2021 we held one of our monthly board meetings attended by the board and a number of residents. One of our members brought to the agenda a topic of great concern, namely the thistles (see image) which have infested a number of properties in the neighborhood.
These prolific weeds are recognized in most states including New Mexico as “noxious weeds” and citizens are encouraged to manage and eradicate such weeds whenever possible. When these weeds go to seed they can scatter up to a 1000 seeds per bloom far and wide.
Our board is asking you to determine if the weeds have infested your property and if so, take steps to remove them.
We have several “agriculturally inclined” members on our board who would gladly provide you with helpful information on how you might proceed. Google also provides guidance.
We thank you in advance for your attention to this matter.
Kurt, ULCNA Board President
